Carousel Plugin

This plugin allows you to display multiple images on your page in a slideshow. These can also be used to guide visitors to other pages using links within the slideshow.

1. Select "Add new plugins" in the left hand icon bar, then find the Blog List plugin.

2. Click and drag the plugin until it snaps into an existing content block on the page where you would like it.

3.Once you have added the carousel to the page, it will bring up a modal for you to edit the slides.

Below is more information on the function of each of these in the carousel modal:

Carousel Plugin

Slide - 1 image per slide, the slide can contain its own text, text position and link.

Slide Image - To add an image select the file manager icon in the "Slide Image" section - adding an image will work the same way as any other plugin that uses images does. Upload an image to the file manager, then select this image to add it to the "Source" field.

Slide URL - The slide URL can be a relative (internal links only) or absolute, and can link internally or externally. This will link the whole slide/image.

Text Box - Slide this slider on if you want to include text on the slide, otherwise keep it off.

Text Box Position - position the text box on the slide.

Slide Text - This is the text that will show in the text box on the slide. You can edit this text as you would a normal text plugin using the RTE, adding formatting or links to certain parts of the text.

Sort slide - Use this icon to drag the slide up/down in the list.

Advanced options - Use the advanced options of a carousel to edit the overall formatting of the carousel plugin. These options include:

  • Aspect ratio: edit the height/width of the aspect of the carousel as a whole.
  • Max Height: the maximum height of the carousel
  • Text Box Style: the default style of any text that is added to the carousel, border radius rounds the corners, padding adds space between the text and box, text colour, background colour and opacity are all customisable.
  • General: Marquee; format the images as a slider rather than a carousel, Loop; loop all images, Autoplay; autoplay the carousel when the user gets onto the page, all other settings customise the speed at which the slides transition, alongside how it transitions, Navigation Arrows; customise what the arrows look like in the carousel.

4. Once you have finished editing the carousel select "Save plugin" and remember to select the "Save" icon in the top admin bar if you like the look of the preview.
