Blog Post Plugin

A blog post is used to write categorised content on a page. Blog posts contain more plugin information than a text plugin that allows it to be used in conjunction with other plugins such as the Blog Title, Blog List, Blog Post Menu. This information includes published date, thumbnail and category of blog.

Jolojo identifies a Blog Post as a page with the Blog Post plugin on it. You can filter pages in Admin > Page management.

Once a Blog Post (page) has been created, you can add any additional plugins onto the page if you want to.

Adding a Blog Post

  • To add a new plugin to a page, select the "+" (General Plugins) icon in the left hand side menu.
  • Locate the Blog Post plugin and drag and drop it onto the page, into whichever content block you would like it.
  • Once you have done this, the Blog Post modal will pop up - which provides you with the ability to add information to your blog post plugin.

Setting up the plugin:

  • Thumbnail - if you would like to add a thumbnail to your blog post you can do so by using the file manager icon and selecting an image to upload. Thumbnails are used in plugins such as the Blog List - and can be seen by Google in search results.
  • Date published - this date is updated when the blog post is created, you can edit this. Again, plugins like the Blog List can also use this information. You can determine whether to show this on the Blog Post or not using the "Show published at" slider.
  • Blog Summary - this summary is shown in the Blog List, and is not shown on the Blog Post itself. Use this to summarise what your blog post is about.
  • Categories - these categories are set in Blog Categories, and can be selected for them to show in particular Blog Lists.

Once you have entered in the blog post information and saved it using the Save Plugin button, the blog post will act like a regular text plugin with an RTE. The only difference is that it will also have a separate area for the Blog Title - which can be customised using the Blog Title plugin.
